Your Rights Under Australian Consumer Law

Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

If there is a major failure with our service, you are entitled to:

  • cancel your service contract with us, and
  • receive a refund for the unused portion, or compensation for its reduced value.

You are also entitled to choose a refund or replacement for major failures with goods.

If a problem does not amount to a major failure, you are entitled to have it fixed within a reasonable time. If it is not fixed, you may be entitled to a refund or cancellation of the service contract.

You may also be entitled to compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.

Our Lifetime Workmanship Warranty

In addition to your consumer rights, NWG offers a lifetime warranty on workmanship for all vehicle glass installations.

That means if there is ever an issue caused by the way your windscreen was fitted — such as:

  • water leaks
  • wind noise
  • sealing or fitment problems

…we will fix it at no extra cost, for as long as you own the vehicle.

It’s our way of giving you long-term peace of mind.

Manufacturing Defects

If the glass we install is later found to have a manufacturing defect that could not reasonably have been detected at the time of installation, it will be replaced free of charge.

How to Make a Warranty Claim

You can make a warranty claim at any NWG branch or authorised service partner.

If you believe there is an issue of any kind, please contact us as soon as you become aware of it.

We will arrange for:

  • an inspection, or
  • a repair or replacement appointment

This can be done either:

  • at one of our service locations, or
  • where available, by one of our mobile technicians at a place that suits you — at home, at work, or wherever you are.

We aim to make the process simple and stress-free.

Proof of Purchase

Your warranty will be honoured when you provide:

  • your receipt or tax invoice, or
  • another reasonable proof of purchase from NWG.

Windscreen Chip Repair Guarantee

A chip repair is designed to help prevent a small chip from turning into a larger crack.

Most repairs will leave a small blemish, but it will not affect the driver’s vision.

In rare cases, micro-cracks from the original impact can cause the chip to expand during repair, through no fault of the technician.

If this happens, NWG will credit the cost of the chip repair toward a replacement windscreen.

If a repair is visually unsatisfactory, and once approved by your insurer or fleet provider (if applicable), we can replace the windscreen and deduct the chip repair cost from the replacement.

What’s Not Covered

Our workmanship warranty gives you confidence that your windscreen has been installed to a high standard. However, it does not cover issues or damage caused by factors outside of NWG’s control.

This includes:

  • new impact damage after installation, such as stone chips, cracks, accidents, or vandalism
  • driving the vehicle before the recommended safe drive-away time
  • pre-existing rust, corrosion, or deterioration in the vehicle body or around the windscreen frame
  • vehicle body distortion or structural movement unrelated to the installation
  • deterioration, ageing, or failure of reused rubber seals, trims, mouldings, or gaskets
  • misuse, negligence, or abnormal vehicle conditions
  • environmental wear and tear, including extreme weather events or exposure over time
  • existing faults or damage not related to the windscreen replacement or repair
  • stress cracks caused by vehicle movement or body flex that are not the result of workmanship
  • damage caused by commercial car washes or high-pressure water directed at seals or edges
  • damage caused by aftermarket devices, including suction mounts, adhesives, dashcams, or attachments applied to the glass

This warranty will not apply if the windscreen has been removed, altered, repaired, or modified by a third party without NWG’s prior approval.

ADAS Recalibration

If ADAS recalibration is performed, it is covered only at the time of service and does not extend to future recalibration needs arising from sensor changes, vehicle modifications, software updates, or subsequent repairs.

Additional Conditions

Extra conditions or exclusions may apply for commercial vehicles, heavy vehicles, off-road use, or specialised applications.

Claims should be made as soon as reasonably possible after an issue is noticed. Minor cosmetic variations that do not affect safety or visibility may not be covered.

Does this cover stone chips after replacement?

No. New damage from road impacts is not covered, but installation-related issues like leaks or sealing faults are.

What if my chip repair spreads later?

In rare cases, if a repaired chip spreads from the repair area, we will credit the cost of the repair toward a replacement windscreen.

Do I need my receipt?

Yes. We honour warranty claims with a tax invoice, receipt, or other reasonable proof of purchase from NWG.

Can you come to me?

Subject to availability. Yes, our mobile technicians can inspect or repair your vehicle at home, work, or another convenient location.
